7 Steps That Are Followed by OEM for the Production of Stainless Steel! | HANZPRO

manufacturing of stainless steel products

Stainless steel is one of the most used metals in the world and china is the biggest OEM manufacturer of this metal. Many companies are dependent on these manufacturers because they provide various parts that complete their product and they are specialists in making or producing those parts. And almost every company needs these metal parts for example, even if you are constructing a building you need these metal products, automobile companies, etc.

Production of any product follows a specific process. Similarly, for manufacturing of stainless steel products the manufacturers follow some fixed steps. Also, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) are better in compared to other suppliers, and this could be attributed mainly to the kind of process and steps they follow. So in this blog, we are going to discuss these steps. Let’s not waste any time and get started with the procedure of making stainless steel.

7 Steps for The Production of Stainless Steel by OEM:

Step 1: The very first thing they do is melt down the raw material. They place the different steel and alloy in the arc furnace, nowadays every producer uses an electric furnace for easy and quick processing.  And the metal is heated above its melting point, this process can take 8-12 hours according to the sources. This process converts all the impurities into gas form and after finishing the melting process the manufacturing of stainless steel is ready for the next step.

Step 2: The next step includes removing the excessive carbon, the melted steel can be placed under two systems either vacuum oxygen decarburization (VOD) or argon oxygen decarburization (AOD). The standard product depends upon how much carbon has been removed from the steel because it directly affects the strength and rigidness of the finished product.

Step 3: Stirring is one of the most important steps for the final product because stirring removes all the impurities as we know it is a mixture of different steel so if we want to remove a specific component then this is the only step that helps in removing those components from the mixture. And it also ensures that stainless steel is in uniform quantity and will meet the requirement of the users.

Step 4: Foaming the steel is the step that takes place once the mixture starts getting cool but is still above the crystallization temperature, this step helps in taking the stainless steel a rough shape. This step starts with the hot rolling while the steel is still above the crystallization temperature. In this process, the steel takes specific dimensions.

Step 5: This step is known as heat treatment or annealing and in this step, the stainless steel is heated and cooled down in a controlled condition. This step helps in relieving stress and helps in altering the mechanical property of the stainless steel.

Step 6: This step is cutting and shaping, as the step says cutting and shaping the meaning is pretty clear that this step includes cutting of stainless steel. In this step, the stainless steel is put through lots of cutting and shaping processes to give the product the final ideal shape. This step will vary depending on the shape and size of the desired final product.

Step 7: there are many types of surface finishes that can be applied by makers of stainless steel, which type of surface finishes to be used totally depends upon the use of the final stainless steel product but the most common surface finishes is grinding as it removes all the final impurities and makes the surface of the steel smoother.

So these are the 7 steps that are used by the OEM of stainless steel. You can find a quality OEM name as stainless steel manufacturers in China who follow the same process.
